As the daughter of the previous
Black Canary, Dinah inherited the metagene that enables her to use her Canary Cry. Because of that, she
decided to become the new Black Canary, a fact that did not make her mother
very happy. Even so, she advised Dinah to seek out Ted Grant for training if
she was serious.
At the age of eighteen years old,
Dinah began to moonlight as a small-time vigilante while she attended
college. She was careful not to becomes famous in the role, but she
eventually attracted the attention of Lex Luthor.
She joined Green Arrow’s team
after she realized that she had been tricked by Luthor into doing his dirty
work. Since then, she has assisted the team in taking down a number of
facilities that experiment on metahumans and are otherwise harmful.
After being unmasked by Tess
Mercer’s men, the team was forced to go into hiding and keep an eye out for
any sign of Lex. Because she had never been to Las Vegas before and she could
easily blend in with the crowd, she chose to visit Sin City.

She joined the Order of the Phoenix back in 2005 alongside Kingsley Shacklebolt and Alastor Moody.
Following the death of her distant cousin, Sirius Black, she began to pursue her long-time crush, Remus Lupin. She eventually managed to marry him and had a child with him.
Following Voldemort's defeat, she chose not to return to the Ministry and become an auror, instead settling down so she could raise her son with his father.
